INSTRUCTORS


Steve Hart is Chalkstone karate clubs senior instructor (Sensei) and is responsible for all aspescts of running the club. He started his karate training in 1987 and achieved his fisrt dan (shodan) black belt in 1992. Spending all his time teaching meant that achieveing second dan (Nidan) didn't happen until 2008 and third dan (Sandan) in 2011

Steve regularly attends training sessions at the Toyakwai Karate Association headquarters with top instructors and is in training for fourth dan (Yon dan)

In addition to his karate qualifications Steve has been fully CRB vetted and has training in child protection and first aid.

Mark Ashwood is the clubs assistant instructor.

Mark started his karate training in 1993 grading to 1st kyu before taking a 4 year sabbatical to attend university to gain his degree. After returning to training with the club in 2007 Mark won his first dan (shodan) black belt in 2008. He is now in training for second dan (nidan)

In addition to his karate training Mark also has child protection protection and first aid training and is fully CRB vetted.

Mark also attends regular training at the toyakwai karate association headquarters with senior instructors.
